KOCO GARDEN: CTG4CTK

KOCO Garden 2025

Things are beginning to "heat up" around here now that spring has arrived. KOCO will begin to plant seedlings in our indoor grow boxes to get ready for an early May planting in the outdoor garden.

This year, we're planting eggplant, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, potatoes, watermelon, peppers, corn, strawberries, onions, green beans and tomatoes.

We're even going to try to plant cotton and see if we can spin it into thread and weave the thread into fabric. We will experiment with dyeing using plant-based dyes.

Just in case water becomes an issue this year, Trifecta Ecosystems is setting up an irrigation system using an IBC tank, which the kids get to decorate.

The garlic bulbs that the preschoolers planted in December with Shannon Raider from UConn Extension are already beginning to grow!
