BACK TO SLEEP POLICY

All infants under the age of 1 will be placed on their backs for naps in their cribs. Studies done by the American Academy of Pediatrics suggest that babies who sleep on their backs have a reduced risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

 

BUILDING SAFETY

Entry into KOCO's front door requires a PIN code. Guests who enter the building without a code must check in with an Administrator. Written authorization ("Alternate Pickup Form") must be provided in advance if a party unknown to KOCO is sent to pick up your child. That person will be required to show identification to the Administrator.  

 

SAFETY AT DROP OFF & PICKUP

Please sign your child in and out of the classroom, and be sure to make contact with a KOCO staff member before you leave. Please use designated spaces when dropping off and picking up your child. Do not park along the curb. Monitor your child's location in the parking lot at all times. Cars left running will be subjected to a fine. Students are escorted by KOCO staff to and from the bus stop, and on all excursions off site.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

KOCO conducts monthly fire drills and quarterly lockdown drills. We have additional procedures established for "Shelter in Place," "Emergency Evacuation," and "Missing Child" situations.
